We've been taking part in really exciting project this half term! We have had two visits from David at the Lancashire Archives to learn about the history of our school. He came first of all to share maps had found to help us work out when Catforth School was founded! He then went back to the archive and found a newspaper report from 1873 about the founding of the school and the original plans of the building. This showed that we are a Victorian school!

When the school was founded, it was very different as it only had two classrooms - one for infants and one for the juniors. It had separate playgrounds for boys and girls and fireplaces to keep the children warm.

Finally, we decided to give our school log books to David for safe keeping at the Lancashire Archives.
