Welcome to Jaguars Class.

Our Year 3 and 4 children are taught in Jaguars Class.

Miss Barnes is our class teacher and Mrs Monteath is our teaching assistant.

Please see our class Dojo page for weekly updates. You can also message Miss Barnes using the Class Dojo app with any queries you may have.

Our Curriculum

Jaguars have a 2 year rolling programme while also choosing topics to meet the needs of our school.  Our curriculum map for all two years can be found here. You can find details of what topics are covered each term here and in which subject. We also send home a topic map each term so that parents and carers know what we are learning in a little more detail.

Homework

Homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be completed on a Wednesday via EdShed.

The children's homework is set on EdShed will be based around times tables and spelling practice as we believe these are key skills.  Please feel free to come and ask for help during any point of the week if you are finding anything tricky.

Reading homework:We want all children in Jaguars Class to continue to read regularly outside of school.  It is really important that the children read at home as much as possible. We request that parents and carers please sign their children's reading record and leave a comment (e.g. on how/what they have read, how they’re enjoying the book, any words they struggled with etc) at least 3-4 times a week to confirm they have been reading. Please bring the reading record in daily so that this can be checked. Additionally, please ensure your child brings in their reading books too, as these are changed regularly.

Spellings homework:Spelling lists are uploaded onto EdShed. The children will be able to practice and play games using these spellings to ensure that they are confident. A weekly spelling test will track your child's progress.
